Core Yoga?

My Yoga studio offers hot yoga as well as core and ashtanga. I'm not sure what the core class accomplishes, but I'm sure it will involve my abs. I hope to make the noon core class today and try and get this mid section of mine a little tighter. Well, a lot tighter. Got on the scale this morning and gained back 1 pound. I'm now at 218. Must be the water settling back in my body. Time to get some breakfast with the family. Cereal and a banana. Yum! Next time I have a chance, I want to have a conversation with my yoga instruction on proper nutrition. Any ideas for some food to eat prior to a hot yoga class? Leave me a comment. Off to breakfast.
